The new year always calls for resolutions, changes and new beginnings; and in 2012, Liz Claiborne Inc. expects all three!
After 36 years as Liz Claiborne Inc, the company will soon be known as Fifth & Pacific Cos. Inc starting May 15, 2012.
In October, the company announced it was shutting down after selling it to J.C. Penney, to focus on its more lucrative brands such as Juicy Couture, Kate Spade, and Lucky Brand. The new name represents a modern name that reflects their current roster of brands.
Liz Claiborne Inc. Chief Executive Officer William L. McComb comments, “While it’s difficult to replace an iconic name like Liz Claiborne, we believe that Fifth & Pacific Companies telegraphs who we are today – taking inspiration (from all over the world)… while serving customers worldwide with high quality and imaginative product.”
