Robin Brouillette’s Fall/Winter 2012 designs are the perfect combination of rich glamor and east-coast class. Everybody knows about my obsession with the color burgundy, and not only does this line incorporate the color in clothes, but in lipstick as well. Brouillette is known for her greek-goddess inspired gowns, which are gorgeous, but what impresses me most is the ah-mazing peacoat pictured below. (It may just have to become my investment piece come fall.)
Robin Brouillette launched her label over a decade ago in New York City. In 1998, she opened Stanley boutique on the Lower East Side, which carried her own designs along with other US and European labels. Brouillette attended Parsons: The New School for Design and the Fashion Institute of Technology. Her designs have appeared in major publications including W, Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, ELLE, New York Magazine, and The New York Times.
Brouillette’s design philosophy is commited to practicing responsible design. Although many designers have taken their operations overseas for less expensive production, Robin produces nearly 80 percent of her collection locally in New York City’s garment district.
