I love when look book images have more of an editorial feel with a story to tell. Now, designers look for creative ways to display their collection and connect each look to its audience. Sass & Bide’s Resort 2014 look book recently caught my eye because of their unique look book images, and I was quite impressed.
The collection embodies two very different themes: the Victorian era and futurism. Although the inspirations were not overly forced together, the subtle combinations created a harmonious silhouette seen throughout the collection. It’s romantic, yet rebellious. Soft, yet fierce. An interesting end-product of which I would definitely like to see more.
Sass and Bide, founded by Sarah-Jane Clarke (sass) Heidi Middleton (bide) in 1999, is a designer label dedicated to the strong, obscure and the beautiful. The venture began as a denim company but after much applaud, expanded into seasonal ready to wear. Currently stocked in over 20 countries, pieces can be found at premium boutiques, exclusive department stores worldwide and now online (which ships to NZ, UK & USA).
