It is a peculiar thing, time.
Some seconds seem to pass by so slowly, and yet the years speed by. I can’t believe it’s been almost 3 years since I last wrote a blog post, and now I’m wondering how on earth I’m going to find the time to even write one more.
It’s easy to get caught up in your day to day, but then suddenly looking around your day and wondering, where has the time gone? That is the fear I have, to live life without having a moment to enjoy it. Think about today – you’re the youngest you’ll ever be, have the least amount of responsibilities (for some time), so you SHOULD capitalize on the potential amount of energy you have to exhaust (it’s not going to maximize in the future).

One day, I was walking through San Francisco, looking at my iPhone (a terrible habit I’ll eventually try to break…) when I stumbled across a quote by R.H. Sin, “Appreciate this moment. Stop and look around you. Be thankful for all you have and where you are because this time next year, nothing will be the same.”
I looked around Drumm Street by the Embarcadero, a usually annoying and chaotic street filled with commuters trying to get home near, and had a moment of clarity.
A year ago, I was living in New York, working in PR at a top luxury fashion house – and now, I’m on the opposite coast, working at an agency I hadn’t even heard of a year ago (but a wonderful one), I willingly wear color to work, own a dog, AND I’m about to get married in a month.
In that moment, I took it all in – my life, my surroundings, my career, and absorbed it with appreciation, all while knowing, and accepting, that a year from now: nothing will be the same.
So, perhaps I’m having a quarter life crisis. Maybe it’s just realizing that time flies and I can’t seem to remember the most of it, but I’ve challenged myself to write more, hence – relaunching this blog.
It took a month of trying to remember my login AND password, another week to modernize my blog purpose and layout, and even longer to finally start the process. Plus, I’ve still got a ways to go. BUT, I’ve written my first blog post, and it’s happening.
So, why Uniquely, A? Well, simply put – I want to share it All. Coincidentally, my first name also starts with an A. Ultimately, my goal is to share a one-stop-shop destination of selectively curated content. I’ll cover affordable and stylish product finds (along with those must-have splurges), interesting news you should to know for any night out with the girls (or coffee date with your newest crush), life hacks, life reminders (like sourcing a last minute, but undeniably perfect gift for Mother’s Day), and any cool new topics that I find along the way.
So here’s to time, let it speed by – for written words freeze that moment indefinitely.
